Description
February 11/12, 2023 are the dates for our 28th annual High Performance Racing Seminar. This world class event features 4 technical speakers and one special guest.
The 2023 the event will be conducted virtually via Zoom as this format is preferred by most and will allow for recording and watching at your convenience. Still if you are on the live event, you will have the opportunity to ask questions of each speaker. Since no one wants to sit in front of a computer screen for 8 hours the seminar will be conducted over two days. Schedule and complete details will be emailed to all participants.
James Penrose is a driver safety expert and has been deeply involved in Formula 1 helping a multitude of top racers with fitting and getting comfortable with their safety gear and in arranging the cockpit for safety and comfort. James worked with Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Keke Rosberg just to name a few. His talk will ensure that you are using the right safety gear, in the right way to not just be safer in your race car, but be comfortable so you can driver faster.
James Walker Jr. is a returning speaker from several years ago. He is an engineer who has worked for Ford, GM, Bosch and Delphi. His book HP Brake Handbook has sold over 10,000 copies.
He will be sharing his vast knowledge of race car braking systems targeting the subject of balance bars, proportional valves and why all this matters.
Our third speaker is Austen figueroa from Fluid Logic, who will speak on the importance of staying hydrated while racing. His presentation will provide great value on a subject that is relatively unknown to club racers and can significantly improve your on track performance. Dr. David Ferguson, PhD at Michigan State University, confirms the important role that proper and consistent hydration plays in a racecar driver’s performance. The study, the first of its kind, quantifies the impact of proper hydration in terms of braking ability, driver errors and late-race lap times.
Rounding out our list of Technical Speakers is the much respected and arguably the most experienced driving coach in America, Terry Earwood. Terry served as Chief Driving Instructor for the Skip Barber Racing school and now is the manager of the driver development program for the Trans-Am series. He is going to cover advanced race driving skills you need to be safe, to out smart your competitors and thus to win.
